The Siberian breed is known to cause reduced or eliminated allergy symptoms in some people.
Do not confuse "hypo-allergenic" with "non-allergenic." We know that
some people (including my husband and our two children) who normally react very strongly to
cats, will not react to our Siberians. But we also know there will be individuals out there
that will still react to Siberians, either at a reduced level or perhaps as they would to any
other cat.
We cannot guarantee that you will not be allergic to our cats! Please be advised of this
from the outset, and also be wary of any other breeder that claims otherwise.
We prefer not to sell a cat to a home with known allergies without an allergy test first.
It would be very traumatic to adopt one of our kittens and then have to return it because
of allergies. We hope you will allergy test first and take appropriate measures to reduce
allergens in your home. Our method of allergy testing involves a personal visit with one of
our cats or kittens and requires the tester to snuggle the cat against his/her neck and
face for 30 minutes and then wear those same clothes for eight hours. Our experience,
as is typical with other breeders, shows us that 80-90% of testers will not react to the
Siberian.
